I was able to get several hours of one-on-one time with the Xbox One last night, and this morning. Here is a short rundown of the things I liked...and the things I didn't.
PROS:
+ Great launch lineup
+ Comfortable controller
+ Runs as cool and quietly as the PS4
CONS:
- No option to view how much space is left on your hard drive
- Non-removable storage
- The entire user interface. The dashboard is more complicated than ever, and there is no longer an Xbox Guide button menu, to access all your friends, achievements, etc. You now have to use the snap feature, or suspend your game and go back to the dashboard in order to access all your friends, achievements, and parties.
- Ridiculous game installation times. Games took up to an hour or longer to install, compared to PS4 installations, which only take a matter of seconds. All games for both consoles require mandatory installation.
CONCLUSION:
There are many things the Xbox One does right, and there are many things it doesn't. Instead of having any major game-breaking issues, the Xbox One has many tiny issues that just nitpick me. Overall, I enjoyed the console, and I'm excited to play it again in December.
